Whoopi Goldberg says Meghan McCain’s dad warned them she would be a “pain in the A”

With Meghan McCain announcing her release from The View this morning, after four seasons on the show, her co-hosts said goodbye to the conservative panelist by sharing some of their best memories with her and thanking her for her strong and unassuming presence. shame over the past four years.

McCain, who will be leaving The View in late July, broke the news in a lengthy speech on this morning’s episode, telling her co-hosts that it was her late father, Senator John McCain, who had pushed her to accept the position first.

“Before I came on the show, I didn’t want to join the show, as I think I’ve talked about in the past, and it was my dad who encouraged me to do so,” Meghan said. “He said I could never give up an opportunity to work on such an iconic show and work with Whoopi Goldberg and he was right. It was one of the last things he told me to do before I die.

Goldberg, who said it was “quite wonderful” to sit across from Meghan for four years, told her co-host: “Your father was very smart. He wanted you to be here with us because I think he thought we could help you toughen up for what was to come. She added: “It was an honor when he said, ‘Please take my child. “”

Meghan joked that her father warned “it’s a pain in the ass” before she joined The View, with Goldberg responding: “He said that!” laughing and asking co-host Sunny Hostin if she remembered the conversation as well.

Hostin confirmed the story by telling Meghan: ‘He told me to calm down, that I would learn to love and understand him, and that she would be boring, and he was right about all these things. . Joy Behar, who argued most often with Meghan, admitted that she and her co-host have their differences, but has enjoyed having her on the show for the past four years. “You and I had our disagreements, we had our fights, we also had some drinking moments that were kind of fun and interesting,” she began. “But I have to say that we have in common, you and I have in common like all of us here, we are on a show where we pull the necks, we take the hit, we take a lot of hits on this show and we take it out. let’s stick to our points of view.

“You did it brilliantly for four years, I hope you can say I did the same,” she continued. “I really, really enjoyed the fact that you were a formidable opponent in so many ways and saying what you thought, and you are not a snowflake, miss.”

Meghan Mccain Joy Behar Revive Their Feud With Chris Cuomo Debate Decider

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had a Meghan McCain – Joy Behar spat on The View, but on Monday morning the conflicting co-hosts treated viewers to exactly that during a discussion of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. When McCain again slammed CNN presenter Chris Cuomo for ignoring the social distancing policies he preaches on air, Behar stepped in to correct her, leading to a happy moment of passive aggression. I understand if you have the Covid virus you should stay indoors, McCain said. I may be wrong.

This morning, McCain spent a few minutes criticizing politicians and members of the media for flouting the social distancing policies they encouraged everyday Americans to follow. There is a lot of hypocrisy in the sense that to approach the president, you actually have to take a Covid test, she said. I know we have all seen and talked about how the women in the White House look like they have their hair and makeup done professionally, as do many women who work on different networks.

The Tory co-host said this hypocrisy is an ongoing problem with the elites running the country, from members of the Trump administration to popular news anchors. When you have someone like Chris Cuomo who is Governor Andrew Cuomo’s brother who actively has the coronavirus and then goes out in public and has a tiff with his neighbor and it ends up all over the internet – when you’re not socially remote and you don’t stay in quarantine, that’s a problem, McCain said. We must practice what we preach!

Behar, a renowned fan of the Cuomo brothers, did not appreciate McCain’s criticism. I think Chris Cuomo, when he had this argument with his neighbor, was on his property, she said. He was at home, I believe. Check it out.

I mean, I, I – I just know what I’ve read, McCain spat. He interacted enough with his neighbor that he was angry enough that he could scour the media to complain.

Behar attempted to say, once again, that Cuomo was outside his own house at the time of the altercation, but moderator Whoopi Goldberg interrupted before the two could resume the fight. Your point is taken into account, however, Goldberg told McCain. We all understand the point. So that’s okay. We all get the point, really.

Goldberg sent The Sight publicity, but the fight clearly made an impression on McCain: In the following segment, she remained silent and refused to smile, even as her co-hosts discussed their respective Mother’s Day. Tough, Meghan.
