The family addressed the scandals in the March 2016 Hello America interview. “The devil has taken his best shot,” said John-David at the time. “And he tried to bring our whole family down, but God really used that to – instead of tearing us apart as a family, he uses it to bring us together. … We have forgiven. We. “This is when it is not popular to be your friend, seeing how [our true friends] responding really showed us the love of Christ through them and through their friendships. I think that’s something that hit me and saw the friends who came so close and were like, “Hey, I’m just going to sit with you”, “I’m going to bring you a meal. or hang out with you if you want. ‘At that time, I was like,’ Man, this is really what mattered most. ‘”

Jinger then stressed that the family needed to figure out how to respond publicly. “Our family was a lot closer because of it, and despite that, I guess you would say,” she revealed. “I will never forget how I felt then. And I think even everything that’s going on in our lives – because we’re in the public eye – it makes it harder because then it’s not just about dealing with these things internally, but you have to give a answer to the world. This makes the task much more difficult to go through.
