Ariana Grande was born June 26, 1993 in Boca Raton, Florida, and is an Italian-born American actress, singer-songwriter, and producer3,4,5.

She began her career in 2007, at the age of 15, playing the role of Charlotte in the musical 13 (in) on Broadway, she became known by playing the role of Cat Valentine in the sitcom Victorious, as well as for taking on the same role in his spin-off Sam and Cat, becoming one of the muses of the Nickelodeon channel.

In 2013, she won the prize for best new artist of the year at the American Music Awards and was then elected “artist of the year” in 2016.10 In 2014, she was elected “revelation of the year” by The Music Business Association and was nominated in the “Best New Artist” category at the Billboard Music Awards11. She was also nominated for the Grammy for the first time in 2015 for her album My Everything and the following years for Dangerous Woman and Sweetener. The latter won the prize for best pop vocal album at the 61st ceremony, becoming the singer’s first victory at this ceremony.

In November 2018, for the first time in her career, she reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her single Thank U, Next which went straight to No. 1, dethroning the song Girls Like You from Maroon 512.

Biography

Childhood

Born in Boca Raton, Florida, Ariana Grande-Butera is the only daughter of Joan Marguerite Grande, CEO of Hose-McCann Communications15, and Edward Butera, graphic designer16. She has an older half-brother named Frank James “Frankie” Grande (born January 24, 1983), who is a dancer, producer, director and actor17. When she was younger, she studied at North Broward Preparatory School18. Her parents are of Italian origin, and her grandparents also have Greek and North African origins19.

His debut and Victorious (2008-2012)

In 2008, at the age of fifteen, Ariana Grande played the role of Charlotte in the musical 13 (en) on Broadway. Through this role, she won a National Youth Theater Association Award. Ariana Grande released her first official single, The Way, on March 26, 2013 featuring rapper Mac Miller27. The single sold more than 120,000 copies in 48 hours28, then more than 219,000 copies in the first week of its release behind Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake and Best Song Ever by One Direction29. On April 5, 2013, the single seated at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week. Since its release, The Way has exceeded two million copies in the United States and has been certified double platinum by the RIAA. However, despite the great success of this first single, Ariana Grande was sued by Minder Music for having copied certain lyrics from the song Troglodyte (1972) by Jimmy Castor30. My Everything and the end of Sam & Cat (2014)

In January 2014, Ariana Grande announced that she had started recording her second album48 and that she was working with Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco49 [insufficient source]. Philanthropy

At the age of 10, Ariana Grande co-founded a music group, Kids Who Care, which sang for many associations; in 2007, the young woman managed to raise 500,000 dollars by singing solo18.
